Anthropic reports six METR evaluators embedded with internal risk-assessment access

On 15 October 2026 Anthropic disclosed that six METR evaluators had been onboarded with employee-like hardware, workspace and access to internal risk assessment systems, excluding customer data, privileged material and model architecture. METR may publish findings subject to narrow redaction procedures. This is a newly disclosed practical access milestone beyond earlier evaluator negotiations, not evidence of full audit independence or a completed evaluation outcome.
